The Intellectual Property Awareness Summit (IPAS) is the first IP event to address the impact of IP

understanding on innovation, ideas and value creation. The IPAS 2017 theme is Enhancing Value

Through Understanding.

The day-long, invitation-only conference is designed and hosted by the Center for Intellectual Property Understanding (CIPU), an independent non-profit, in conjunction with Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology. Chicago-Kent’s attractive downtown facility is the site of IPAS 2017, which will provide ample opportunity for discussion, debate and networking.

No Fees

There are no registration fees for IPAS 2017. We are inviting you to join a select group of IP thought-leaders, including Brian Hinman, Chief IP Officer, Philips; renowned economist David Teece; Judge Paul Michel (retired Chief Judge of the CAFC); David Kappos, USPTO Director, 2009-2013; Todd Dickinson, Chief IP Officer, GE and USPTO Director, 1998-2001; Scott Frank, CEO AT&T Intellectual Property; Marshall Phelps, former Microsoft and IBM VP of IP Business & Strategy; Roger Parloff, former editor at large, FORTUNE; and more than 125 others.

Attendees will participate with facilitators and panelists in panel discussions, breakouts and networking sessions designed to facilitate more effective understanding of IP rights and issues.

Confusion is Costly

Lack of clarity about what intellectual property rights achieve, and for whom, has led to confusion over IP’s role in the growth of businesses and lives of people. Join your fellow thought-leaders and rise to face the challenge.
